It Gets Better Project Honored By City of West Hollywood on November 11 | Hosted by Actor/Singer Adrian Wilson
On November 11, at LA’s historic Crest Theatre, veteran performer Adrian Wilson will host a special evening at which Compassionate California and the City of West Hollywood will honor the It Gets Better Project for their contribution to the LGBT community.
For this event Wilson has pulled out all the stops to create a one-of-a-kind extravaganza complete with a red carpet. Wilson and the WeHo Elite Cheerleaders will be performing at the event, and Wilson will be screening his new music video, “All Consuming Fire.”
“All Consuming Fire” was written and directed by Wilson and shot in 4K Ultra High Definition. It tells a powerful story of hope, and with this music video Wilson is launching his Be Who You Are campaign, a global project to encourage people to live their lives authentically. Wilson was the victim of discrimination when a major record label offered him a contract but only on the condition he lie about his sexual orientation. Deciding to be true to himself, Wilson turned down the deal, and has made a successful career as an entertainer on his own terms, and hopes to inspire others to be happy with who they are.At this event, the It Gets Better Project will be presented with a Compassion Action Award by the nonprofit pasted image 0organizations Compassionate California and the Charter for Compassion International by Wendy Silvers, a Chief Compassion Officer, along with a special commendation from the City of West Hollywood, in recognition of the It Gets Better Project’s global impact on people’s lives around the world.
A new Compassionate West Hollywood initiative will be announced at the event with a central feature of this initiative to connect the Be Who You Are campaign with the LGBTQ community in Botswana, Africa and around the world through the Charter for Compassion’s global network of city & community organizers and members.
“We’re thrilled to be presenting this award in the spirit of community building, collaboration and compassionate action” said Sande Hart, co-founder and fellow Chief Compassion Officer of Compassionate California. “This new West Hollywood Initiative is a very important piece of a much larger effort to advance the compassion movement and support LGBTQ people around the world.”
All of this is taking place at the Crest Theatre in Los Angeles (1262 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90024) on November 11, 2015 at 7:00pm PST. Tickets for general seating are free and open to the public and can be obtained by calling (424) 256-9080 or via e-mail: .
